Dosimetrist, Remote Radiation Oncology (Galveston) **Galveston, Texas, United States** **New** Allied Health UTMB Health Requisition # 2400817 **_REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:_** Associates degree in Radiation Therapy and two years experience; or Certified Radiation Therapist and two years related experience, or graduate from accredited university Dosimetry program and two years related experience. **_JOB DESCRIPTION:_** Develops treatment plans to determine the optimal radiation dose to patients under the supervision of the Senior Dosimetrist and the Medical Physicist. **_ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:_** + Determination of patient specific radiation delivery technique either manually or by computer to include MU setting calculations, gap calculations, off-axis calculations and chart error makeup calculations. + External beam treatment planning either manually or by computer to include open beam combinations, wedged beams, rotation fields, arc fields, electron beams, and manual contour, CT based plans, 3D conformal, or IMRT. + Assists with Quality Assurance of Machines and Equipment including: CT, simulators, and high energy linear accelerators. + Constructs custom block templates as necessary. + Assists in the preparation of immobilization and repositioning devices as needed. + Performs HDR brachytherapy quality assurance as needed under the direction of the medical physicist. + Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure. **Equal Employment Opportunity** UTMB Health strives to provide equal opportunity employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by institutional policy or by federal, state or local laws unless such distinction is required by law.
