Job Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist produces an optimal external beam treatment plan (IMRT/VMAT, 3D) using Eclipse and/or Ethos TPS (adaptive or non-adaptive planning)Guided by the ALARA principles and having patient’s best interest in mind participates actively in the decision process for the selection of the best patient treatment coursePerforms rigid and deformable fusions of multiple image datasets.Accurately identifies and contours Organs at Risk on different modality datasets (CT, MR, PET)Assist with HDR procedures when neededGenerally supervises each initial treatment set up to assure compliance with treatment plan and prescriptionDesigns custom cut-outs for electron treatment and places orders using dot. Decimal softwareAssists the physicist in generating QA plans and calculations.Performs other duties such as billing and assists with patient schedulingAssists the Radiation Oncology team on miscellaneous tasks and on most challenging clinical casesMinimum Qualifications:
Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) by Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB)Graduate of an approved school of radiation therapy and/or a formal school of medical dosimetry.AART Certification preferred but not required.Florida licensed Radiation Technology Therapist preferredBachelors degree in math or physical sciences preferred.Computer skills and strong physics background requiredAble to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisionsPossess good hand/eye coordination, alert, self-motivated, listens intently.Excellent communication skills both verbal and writing.
