CACI is looking for experienced Drafters / SolidWorks Professionals to support new drafting and technical documentation efforts in Southern Maine.  The program provides undersea rescue and mobilization solutions to submariners and supports both manned and unmanned vehicles and equipment. 

Under general supervision, drafters will provide updated red-line drawings and as-built drawings in support of submarine and submersible product lines.  Work will be in a CACI facility in Portsmouth, NH but will require frequent visits to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNS) in Kittery, Maine

What You’ll Get to Do:

Develops complete major layout and engineering drawings of complicated components and assemblies such as schematics, interconnect lists, parts breakdown, printed circuit board layouts, wire lists, etc., from notes, rough sketches, or general instructions of engineers and designers. 

Reviews engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

Changes drawings / CAD models to meet altered engineering requirements based on sketches, specifications, manufacturing procedures or Engineering Change Notices.

Makes and verifies arithmetic computations using standard formulas.

Determines scaling, inserts necessary reference planes, centering and dimension lines, hidden line interpolations and sectioning.

Reviews dimensions, materials and quantities specified in completed work of other drafters for accuracy and completeness.


You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

High School Diploma (or GED equivalent).

A minimum of five (5) years training and experience with a combination of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.

A minimum of five (5) years' experience involving design, drawing development for construction, conversion or the overhaul and repair of electrical, mechanical or structural equipment, with at least two (2) of these years spent checking Engineering drawings in either Structural, Electrical, Mechanical or Combat Systems Engineering disciplines.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

A high level of attention to detail, an ability to communicate clearly and the ability to work well with others.

Navy Shipyard experience is a strong plus.

Technical training equivalent to an Associate's degree is also preferred

Pay Range:

This posting is for a position covered by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCA). The pay and benefits provided for this position will meet or exceed the minimum required amounts detailed in the wage determination issued by the Department of Labor and made applicable to this position, as incorporated into CACI’s government contract for the work location.

Since the position can be worked in more than one location, the rate shown is the Minimum Wage for Federal Contractors. The actual rate will be based on contract, location and job classification.

Minimum Required Hourly Wage:​

$21.42
