Job Title: Drafter
Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Drafter to support a variety of utility projects for a major client in New York. The successful candidate will be based in our Owings Mills, MD office and will receive training on a new software specific to this client. Initially, you will learn from a senior designer, taking notes and understanding the process for repeatable projects. Once trained, you will work independently to manage your workload. This role involves designing as-built design packages for utility projects, with a GIS component, using proprietary software called Arc FM. Project tracking is managed within Microsoft Excel.

ResponsibilitiesSupport a variety of utility projects by drafting and designing as-built design packages.Learn and utilize proprietary software specific to the client.Take detailed notes and understand processes during training.Work independently to manage and complete assigned tasks.Handle project tracking using Microsoft Excel.Essential SkillsExperience in drafting or design responsibilities for an engineering firm.Proficiency in AutoCAD.Familiarity with civil, utility, mechanical, wet utilities, and piping projects.Knowledge of GIS components and distribution design.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong work ethic.Willingness to ask questions and take thorough notes during training.Work Environment

This position requires in-office work five days per week initially. After training and demonstrating the ability to work independently, you may earn up to three remote days per week. The office environment is typical for engineering, designed to facilitate collaboration.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00
