Job Description
We are seeking a Drafter / Junior Designer to join our Electrical Grid Infrastructure teams in Elkridge, MD. In this role, you will support a variety of substation and transmission-related projects, working on drafting projects for our end clients. You will handle basic drafting responsibilities and work on drawings for transmission line projects, substation projects, or both.
ResponsibilitiesAttend team/project meetings.Work independently on electrical, structural, and civil drafting concepts.Layout construction documents.Apply basic design principles (more complex work available based on skill level).Train with senior designers/engineers.Submit work for quality review and make corrections when needed.Communicate with internal and external stakeholders regarding project needs and responsibilities.Essential SkillsExperience with MicroStation or AutoCAD software (training will not be provided for basic use of these programs).Ability to commute to the Elkridge, MD office location (no fully remote exceptions).Strong ambition and work ethic, with a desire to grow into tenured designer roles and beyond.Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum of an associate degree (consideration given for relevant experience in lieu of a degree).Utility-specific experience (distribution junior designer/drafter background) is a plus.Willingness to take on more work and advance within 1-2 years.Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid work schedule with remote flexibility. The typical schedule includes remote work on Monday and Friday, and in-office work on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. During the training period, you may be asked to come into the office outside of this schedule. The ideal candidate enjoys collaborating in a team setting and learning from experienced professionals.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00
