Job Title: Drafter Job Description We are seeking a drafter to support a variety of utility projects for a major client in New York. The drafter will be based out of our Owings Mills, MD office and will receive training on a client-specific software. This role involves learning from an experienced designer, taking notes, and understanding processes for repeatable projects. Upon completing training, the drafter will work independently to manage their workload. This position involves designing as-built design packages for utility projects using GIS components and proprietary software called Arc FM, with project tracking done in Microsoft Excel. Responsibilities + Support utility projects by creating as-built design packages. + Learn and use proprietary software (Arc FM) for design purposes. + Take comprehensive notes and understand processes during training. + Work independently to manage project workloads after training. + Collaborate with designers and utility engineers. + Track project progress using Microsoft Excel. Essential Skills + Experience with drafting and design responsibilities in an engineering firm. + Proficiency in AutoCAD. + Understanding of civil, utility, mechanical, wet utilities, and piping projects. + Familiarity with GIS components. + Experience with distribution design and Microsoft Excel. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong work ethic. + Willingness to ask questions and take detailed notes during training. Work Environment The drafter will initially work in-office five days a week. After demonstrating the ability to work independently, up to three remote days per week may be granted. The work environment is a typical engineering office set up for collaboration. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
