Job Description

  

 

Creates and modifies detailed drawings using CAD hardware and software from sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering.  Contributes design modifications to facilitate manufacturing operation or quality of product.  Checks drawing plots versus the project input for correctness and conformance to standards.  Works with engineers regarding model accuracy, design, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.  May work with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage by performing the following duties. Solves problems of minor to complex, subject to periodic adjustments which require a high degree of coordination and individual control.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. High level of communication with consultants and clients. Will potentially be the project lead for the team.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 

 

Incorporates ECOs (Engineering Change Orders) and maintains files and archives ECOs.  

Creates new drawings from engineering input. Creates substrate fabrication drawings. 

Creates Gerber data from CAD.  

Creates assembly drawings for engineers.  

Corrects CAD data for substrate drawings.  

Creates and modifies circuit design.  

Provides engineering support for product documentation.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience 

 Vocational or Technical Certificate, or college degree (Associates Degree) in related or specialized field; 15+ years of experience, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Language Skills  

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. 

 

Mathematical Skills 

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. 

 

Reasoning Ability 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. 

 

Computer Skills  

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of  

SolidWorks Design software;  

MS Excel Spreadsheet software and  

MS Word Word Processing software. 

 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations  

Certified SolidWorks Associate preferred. 

 

 

 

Other Qualifications  

Intermediate skills in 3D solid Modeling/drafting using SolidWorks software 

Intermediate skills in 2D drafting using AutoCAD software 

Intermediate knowledge of conventional engineering drawing practices per ASME Y14 standards. 

Intermediate knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5 

Intermediate knowledge of machining operations and shop practices 

 

Position may require one or more of the following (Site/CBU Specific): 

 

Other Essential Duties 

Follows all import/export requirements, consulting with facility import/export personnel as required.  

 

Other Skills and Abilities  

Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100  

Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen 

Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP…) 

 

Other Qualifications 

US Citizenship with ability to attain/maintain government security clearance.
