Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Drafter to join our team. In this role, you will use Solidworks software to design railing and fence projects for both commercial and residential applications. You will communicate with architects, contractors, and other customers to produce and revise production drawings. Your knowledge of engineering practices and mathematics will be essential during the drawing process, and you will be responsible for reading architectural blueprints and creating finished designs from customer sketches. Additionally, you will maintain an organized file system for production drawings.
ResponsibilitiesDesign railing and fence projects using Solidworks software.Communicate with architects, contractors, and customers on production drawings and revisions.Utilize knowledge of engineering practices and mathematics during the drawing process.Read architectural blueprints.Create finished designs from customer sketches.Maintain an organized file system for production drawings.Essential SkillsExperience in reading construction drawings and cut details.Strong proficiency in math through trigonometry.Experience with Solidworks software or any other 2D design software.Ability to problem-solve.Excellent organizational skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsDrafting certificate required.Experience with AutoCAD.Mechanical engineering background.2D drafting experience.Work Environment
The work environment consists of spending 90% of the time in front of a desk doing designs and redesigns, and 10% working with the shop team. You will be working on a backlog of projects, with the possibility of extending beyond 6 months.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
