Job Overview The incumbent performs drafting work requiring knowledge and skill in drafting methods, procedures, and techniques, using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software. Work Model: Onsite/Office-Based  Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Prepares complete sets of complex detail drawings from sketches, notes and verbal information supplied by engineers, architects and designers. Utilizing knowledge of recognized systems of symbols, legends, shadings and lines having specific meanings in various drawings. Requires utilizing the conventional drafter and CAD techniques and a working knowledge of the terms and procedures of the industry including information from computer programs, and internet sites, precedents, manufacturers’ catalogs and technical guides. Recurring work is assigned in general terms; more complex assignments include information on methods, procedures, sources of information and precedents to be followed. Revisions to existing drawings or computer models may be assigned with a verbal explanation of the desired results; more complex revisions are produced from sketches, computer models or specifications which clearly depict the desired product. Incumbent independently resolves drafting problems encountered. Promotes quality and customer service. Performs other related duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED). Certificate of successful completion of post high school, or equivalent, formal technical drafting course of study, plus three years drafting experience. Working knowledge of drafting practices in at least one engineering discipline. One additional year of relevant drafting experience may be substituted for the post high school drafting courses. Ability to acquire and maintain government identification/common access card.  Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.  Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.   Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.   U.S. Citizenship.   Ability to obtain access to U.S. Government Installations through the Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS).    Reasonable Accommodation: CGS will provide reasonable accommodations, according to applicable state and federal laws, to all qualified individuals with physical or mental disabilities.
