Tetra Tech’s commitment to hiring the best talent in the industry and helping them thrive professionally is stronger than ever. We currently seeking a Drafter/Designer for our Glen Allen, VA office.

 

Essential Education, Experience and Responsibilities: 

·         Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or 8 years’ experience with an emphasis in civil drafting, computer aided design or similar.

·         Proficient in using AutoCAD/Civil 3D software2918 ad newer.

·         Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer.

·         Familiar with the following modules:

o   Survey, Points, Surfaces, Design, Alignments, Profiles, Corridors, Sections, Pipe Network, Volume Calculations, Labeling, Analyzing and Vehicle Tracking.

o   Familiar with surveyors provided files and coordinate systems.

o   Familiar with Data short cuts. And file organization.

o   Prepare and revise Grading Plans as directed by the given criteria.

·         Prepare and revise grading plans as directed by the given criteria.

·         Able to calculate cut/fill volumes and balance the quantities as needed.

·         Ensure the X-REF files are reconciled and in the right folder.

·         Plotting/Printing files for both review and final submittal, following the CTB and PC3 files that are provided. 

·         Ensure technical accuracy of drawings, layouts, details, material lists and space allocation.

·         Be able to evaluate alternatives and resolve technical issues. 

·         Ability to multi-task from project to project

·         Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of technical plans, drawings, and models.

·         Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including the ability to relate a variety of renewable energy equipment to a technical design.

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Project).

·         Strong and creative problem-solving ability.

·         Strong verbal and written communication skills.

·         Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients.

·         A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.

·         Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
