ResponsibilitiesTransform new product ideas and requirements into a prototype or pilot design.Use 3D tools such as PTC Creo to digitally prototype.Develop 3D design models based on concepts, sketches, or previous designs to create detailed drawings.Conceptualize sheet metal design through the use of either 2D or 3D tools ensuring tolerancing.Propose assembly and/or fabrication techniques.Develop the new product’s mechanical, physical, and other attributes to ensure the design is manufacturable.Present, or co-present model designs for technical review or design reviews.Prepare comprehensive document packages for manufacturing release, including assembly drawings, Bills-of-materials, and machine files.Essential Skills4+ years of experience developing and creating new products in the electrical-mechanical products space.Experience in both 2D and 3D modeling software.3D CAD skills are required; PTC Creo preferred.Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Excel.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience designing to UL, CSA, NEC, and other safety agency requirements.BS in Engineering or Computer Aided Design (CAD) preferred, Associate Degree in Engineering or CAD.Machine tool programming.Experience working with sheet metal.Work Environment
Office environment currently attached to a manufacturing floor. They will be relocating to a new office nearby in the next couple of months.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $36.00/hr.
