Description of Duties\:

The Drafter/Planner supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will\:

 

·         Provide management of technical documentation that clearly diagrams and articulates the physical and logical attributes of and the functional relationship between systems, subsystems, and capabilities, as well as support changes of record as they are implemented against the established technical documentation baseline. Document and coordinate implementation of equipment upgrades, repairs, and remodeling projects with a fast-paced team of engineers and managers. Maintain the integrity of project drawing packages through the As-Design, As-Built and Baseline Submission phases of a project’s lifecycle.

·         Develop, incorporate, and maintain the structure repositories, tools, processes, and procedures identified in accordance with the MDA/BCX Director that facilitate the management of all technical artifacts as they are impacted by the engineering product life cycle and/or sustainment activities. Have knowledge of the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) Standards.

·         Ensure proper record keeping of engineering changes to the C2BMC Labs and Warfighters (CLAW) Drawing Baseline Drawing package check-out/check-in (TDM database). Ensure proper drawing numbers and Configuration Item numbers are applied to new drawings and ensure that all Change Vehicles are recorded per the CLAW standard in each drawing of that Change Vehicle’s drawing package.

·         Conduct site surveys to confirm that drawings are accurate and to make appropriate drawing updates to reflect site conditions as required.

·         Document design changes that occur during implementation to ensure the final drawings incorporate “all” design changes.

·         Will assist during project closeout by working closely with the project team members and configuration management team to confirm all actions pertaining to drawings and support documentation are completed within the project's deadlines.

·         Should have the solid understanding of the following, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), Visio, AutoCAD (or a comparable substitute), Microsoft Access, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)

·         Create, maintain and track metrics for all drawings for all task orders within CLAW.

Basic Requirements\:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience\: HS Diploma (or GED) and 1 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 0 years of general experience.

 

·         Must have 2 years of directly related experience.

·         This candidate must have a basic understanding of building infrastructure systems

·         Must have experience using computer aided drafting (CAD) and/or modeling applications.

·         Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Programs.

·         Must be comfortable with reading CAD drawings.

·         Must be able to climb ladders.

·         Must be able to lift 40lbs.

·         Must be able to work below raised floors.

·         Must have, or obtain, an active DOD Secret Security Clearance.

 

Desired Requirements\:

 

·         Have experience in the following Microsoft Access, Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).

·         Have knowledge of network system, rack, electrical drawings. Hardware, software and cable layout configurations.

 

This position is expected to pay $55,000 - $80,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.
