CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a Drafting/CAD Technician II.

**Pay Rate:** Based on experience
**Work Hours:** M-F, 8am-5pm
**Education:** Minimum 2-year technical degree (Mechanical Technology, CAD, etc.)

**Description:**
The **Drafting/CAD Technician II** will provide mechanical design and technical support to engineers involved in the design, development, and testing of industrial thermal process equipment. The role requires proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks software to assist with mechanical component design, revisions, and updates. The technician will also support equipment start-ups, debugging, and installations while generating documentation such as spare parts lists, SOPs, and equipment specifications.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Modify design layouts of mechanical systems using AutoCAD and SolidWorks under the guidance of engineers (2D/3D).
+ Revise assembly and detail drawings for machine components and robot tooling.
+ Assist in preparing documentation packages (drawings and written materials).
+ Compile Spare Parts Lists based on vendor or engineer recommendations.
+ Assist engineers with specifications for material handling equipment and systems.
+ Provide support to project teams in estimating, tracking, and reporting costs and project timelines.
+ Help prepare training materials and train plant/customer personnel.
+ Communicate technical ideas effectively through graphic, written, and oral media.
+ Engage with vendors in the final selection of commercial components and write purchase requisitions.

**Hours of Work/Work Schedule:**
+ Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, with overtime as required.
**Required Skills (MUSTS):**
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to a highly matrixed project team.
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities through sound planning and organization.
+ Strong technical understanding of mechanical design and systems.
+ Ability to select standard mechanical parts from vendor catalogs or by contacting vendors.
**Desired Skills:**
+ Technical curiosity and mechanical aptitude.
+ Knowledge of ANSI drawing standards.
+ Ability to work independently on drafting and design tasks.
+ Experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Willingness to mentor less experienced technicians and advise engineers on best practices for mechanical design.
**Education and Experience (Minimum Required for Consideration):**
+ Minimum 2-year technical degree (Mechanical Technology, CAD, or related field).
+ At least 2-3 years of relevant experience.

+ Professional, courteous, and positive attitude.
+ Flexibility and adaptability.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Ability to communicate clearly with team members, vendors, and customers.
+ Willingness to take on additional responsibilities, including small to mid-size projects.
+ Self-motivated, engaged with engineers, and committed to project requirements.
