CTG's premier client has a contract assignment for a Drafting/CAD Technician II. Type: Contract Job Title: Drafting/CAD Technician II Location: Painted Post, NY Pay Rate: Based on experience Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm Education: AAS Required A successful candidate in this position will possess strong soft skills as well as: • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively • Ability to collaborate closely with engineers and supervisors • Initiative in the area of continuous improvement Description: This is a true CAD Tech position with a focus on heavy drafting. Encompasses the use of integrated systems for computer-aided design used for the systematic representation and dimensional specification of extrusion dies, as well as occasional production tooling and equipment. Utilizes CAD digitizing techniques and skills. Prepares and maintains CAD models and drawing packages. Requirements: • Intermediate-level technical understanding • Implements standard procedures and proposes intermediate-level modifications to improve workflow • Solves complex problems with some discretion and guidance • Works under department supervision and gathers information independently using established procedures • Maintains compliance with CAD audits and technical documentation requirements Key Responsibilities: • Collaborate closely with engineers and supervisors, taking direction to fulfill project requirements • Engage in longer-term routine-based tasks • Create and modify 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks • Create and modify CNC programs using Mastercam • Develop comprehensive drawing packages, including managing redlines and revisions • Handle process and die tracking through spreadsheets and updating tracking systems • Perform admin duties for PDMWorks • Provide drafting support for non-die components • Manage legacy print obsolescence • Conduct CAD audits and ensure DARM compliance • Create and manage technical documentation, ensuring clarity and accuracy • Offer support to the shop floor as needed • Provide support for various assigned tasks and projects as needed • Multitask effectively, managing several projects simultaneously without compromising on quality • Maintain high attention to detail in all aspects of work Required Qualifications: • Minimum of 3 years of experience with SolidWorks • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Mastercam • Experience with PDMWorks (preferred) • Familiarity with AutoCAD • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects • Team-oriented with strong communication and problem-solving skills Additional Information: • No third-party resumes will be accepted • Drug testing and/or other employment-related inquiries may be conducted • CTG will consider for employment-qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of all applicable local, state, and federal laws • All interested individuals MUST be able to work on a W2 Tax basis (no C2C or third-party vendors) • CTG is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer • CTG is an E-Verify Company To be considered for this opportunity, please apply directly through our website by clicking the link below or email your Word version resume and salary expectations to Jeffrey.Thompson@ctg.com.
