Draftsman II Engineering Michigan - USA Posted: 02/25/2025 | Accepting Until: 03/28/2025 | Positions Available: 2 Job Responsibilities Job Responsibilities: + Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, and drawings for basic parts and subsystems + Ability to manage drafting projects, prioritize workload and meet deadlines. + Develop detailed, CAD-driven, design drawings for opto-mechanical parts and subsystems + Coordinate/consult with engineers to design, layout, or detail components and subsystems and resolve design related issues + Complete difficult assigned drafting tasks on-time with moderate supervision or assistance + Maintain schedule, design file database, and safe and clean working environment; control costs + Document design improvements to existing products per customer request + Collaborate with other engineering groups and disciplines within department, as well as other departments + Follow written protocols and instructions, and generate reports + Contribute to the intellectual property position of the company + Perform intermediate level tolerance stacks to ensure full functionality (e.g. for basic sealing or coated threads) + Ensure all ISO paperwork is complete at each project milestone + Perform other similar tasks as assigned Job Requirements Job Requirements: + Proficiency in PTC Creo + Ability to read, understand, and check Engineering drawings or blueprints + Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance experience or education + Create 3D solid models from physical parts or 2D drawings + Create 3D solid models from sketches or verbal descriptions of a concept + Create fully-dimensioned 2D drawings with GD&T from solid models + Ability to use AutoCAD 2000 or later version + Basic Microsoft Windows / Microsoft Office + Knowledge of basic geometry and trigonometry + Use Measuring devices such as micrometer, caliper, optical comparator, etc. + Understand the use of basic machine tools such as milling machine, lathe, grinders, etc. + Detail oriented, creative thinking, problem solving and systematic diagnosis, self-motivated, excellent interpersonal skills + Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills + Effectively interface with employees, visitors, and suppliers + Ability to work interdepartmentally in developing CAD designs and engineering drawings + Assist with ISO document control processes + Assist in facilities update layout generation + Maintain professional, respectful, and ethical conduct at all times + Maintain and project Trijicon’s business image, Vision, Mission, and Values at all times + Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies as required + Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment, or skill-set based. + Participation in at least one Small Project and one full-milestone project from inception through launch preferred – or demonstrated ability through prior experience. Education: + Associates Degree in Engineering or other directly related discipline - Mechanical Design or Drafting preferred Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding, follow detailed and uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete standardized situations.
