Job Title Dragons for Democracy Internships - Spring 2025 Department Civic Engagement Office Job Description/Duties Dragons for Democracy interns will develop and conduct projects that help students develop civic discourse skills and dispositions.

Duties may include: Plan, promote, conduct, and assess an April 2024 nonpartisan and participatory democracy engagement event. (Democracy engagement is the participation in our democratic republic’s civic decision-making processes.) Demonstrate initiative and collaboration by designing, promoting, conducting, and assessing at least one participatory democracy engagement event in the spring 2024 semester. Meet weekly with the Institute’s director and with other Action Team interns. Use active listening skills in those weekly meetings (and, ideally, in other situations).  Send the Institute’s director weekly progress reports, including bi-weekly reflections.  Conduct an end-of-semester I Learned by Doing Sandwich Seminar.  Days/Hours Needed At least two hours/week. Campus Location/Bldg. Moffett Center, Room 102 or at other locations, as needed or appropriate. Required Qualifications Must be a SUNY Cortland student.
