Truck Dispatcher - Port / Short Haul
Cargomatic is looking for a Dispatcher to join our West End Express growing team! We’re seeking self-starters who are eager to learn and advance professionally in an ever growing industry. As a Dispatcher, you’ll be responsible for scheduling, dispatching, and resolving problems for our drivers, contractors, and carriers. This position requires you to have exceptional communication skills, proactive customer service skills, and the ability to problem-solve in a deadline driven environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Schedule and dispatch drivers, contractors, and carriers Plan routes to ensure that pick-ups and deliveries are completed efficiently and on scheduleBuild strong relationships with carriers and customers Assess driver and vehicle capability for each requested haul Tracking and tracing of shipments Problem-solve and communicate any issues, delays, or concerns with shipmentsEnsure accurate and timely reporting and data entry Provide exceptional customer service to carriers and internal/external customers Navigate Cargomatic’s proprietary software to manage daily operations and loads

What We’re Looking For

Exceptional communication skills and attention to detail Dispatching experience in the trucking industryPort, Over The Road, Full Truckload, and Less Than Truckload experienceBilingual Spanish/English a plus, but not requiredPossess knowledge of logistical concepts, supply chain terminology, and dispatch best practices Ability to analyze complex situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgmentStrong negotiation skills and ability to overcome objections Ability to multitask and prioritize daily tasks
