This is a rotational position working 19 days on and 9 days off
Travel is paid by Weeks Marine
Job Description
An Electrician installs new equipment, troubleshoots, and repairs existing electrical equipment and systems.
Essential Job Functions
Install, assemble, dismantle, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all types of electric equipment such as A/C & D/C drives, motors and generators, control circuits, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, distribution panels and lighting circuits Conducts insulation resistance measurements of electrical cables, motors to determine condition and effects repairs or replacement as required Utilize precision electrical measurement tools such as multimeters, ammeters, insulation resistance testers etc. Supervises and participates in the installation and/or alteration to electrical systems aboard dredges and other marine vessels with basic understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLC) Perform other duties as assigned Follows all company and work site safety policies/procedures and commits to an “Incident and Injury Free” work environmentRequirements
3+ years of electrician experience High School diploma or equivalent Valid TWIC Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record Experience reading electrical drawings and troubleshooting control circuits Strong technical understanding of A/C and D/C generators and motors and motor controls Experience in troubleshooting all types of electrical systems, including but not limited to generators from 3kw to 3000kw preferred, A/C and D/C drives Knowledge of MS Office Ability to work 19 days on and 9 days off Ability to live on dredge for 19/9 rotation Travel (by land, air, and water) to field locations is required (transportation paid)Physical Requirements
Must be able to tolerate rough seas, vibrations, heat, harsh weather conditions, confined spaces, and high noise levels Work will frequently require individuals to push, pull, bend, or stand for long periods of time, and climb ladders Must be able to lift or carry miscellaneous equipment, supplies and parts up to 50 lbs. unassisted Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat and lift for long periods of time Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways and work from platforms. Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow, and windAdditional Duties
