Job Brief

As a Drill Mechanic Apprentice, you will maintain and repair mobile drill equipment, at remote customer sites including engines, chassis, and track frames to assure safe, reliable, and cost-effective use.

 

This position pays $26-30 per hour

What You’ll Do:

As a Drill Mechanic, you will maintain and repair mobile drill equipment, at remote customer sites including engines, chassis, and track frames to assure safe, reliable, and cost-effective use.  Other duties include:

Repair and maintain drills and related equipment to assure safe and reliable use. 

Maintain all vehicle maintenance records to assure timely maintenance of vehicles. 

Learn, apply and accurately update all applicable modules of Manager Plus (or other) maintenance tracking software including work orders with parts and labor accurately recorded 

Maintain parts supply inventories and equipment in order to have necessary parts and supplies readily available and to control costs. 

Purchase parts and supplies needed for repair and maintenance of vehicles to fulfill maintenance requirements in a cost-effective manner. 

Timely processing of all required reporting and receiving. 

Supervise and direct mechanic helpers 

Maintain good communications with manager and drill operations manager and drill operators with equipment and work order status. 

Responsibly maintain company provided service truck and related equipment to meet company and regulatory requirements.  

Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions  

Knowledge and use practices that are consistent with company policies and procedures including applicable technical modules, SOPs, work instructions and safety policies and procedures. 

Knowledgeable of, and comply with applicable DOT, OSHA, MSHA, EPA and BATFE. 

Ability to work accurately with numbers and perform simple mathematical calculations.  

Proactively manage safety issues and practice Take 5! process by using the HAT tool to promote personal responsibility for safety. 

Maintain safe working conditions and assure that all crew members and others on the site follow all safety and regulatory procedures and practices to ensure a safe and successful event. 

Familiarize and comply with customer site, MSHA and other regulatory requirements for safety and other. 

What We’re Looking For:

5 years of heavy mechanics or related experience Ability to read, write, and speak English, and to communicate in writing and verbally.   Must be at least 21 years of age or older Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives. . Valid class C commercial driver license with necessary endorsements for operating any vehicle operated by the business unit. A licensed CDL (class A or B) operator is desirable. Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player.
