The Pine Hill Mill is currently seeking a Drive Champion. The Pine Hill Mill is a complex, fully integrated pulp and paper manufacturing facility with two machines. The mill includes multiple process lines of wood handling, pulping, power and recovery, and effluent treatment. The position works within the Maintenance and Engineering group and reports to the Process Control Manager.
The Job You Will Perform:
Working safely in an industrial environment. Design, implement, and sustain a successful Drive & PLC program to eliminate unscheduled equipment downtime, prevent equipment damage, prevent personnel exposure to inadvertent equipment movement, and minimize financial impact of drive and PLC life cycle costs. Assist with design and maintaining asset equipment care strategies. Provide technical support to production, maintenance management, and technical personnel regarding variable speed drive operation and performance for both AC and DC applications. Participate and lead Drive and PLC Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to ensure the root causes are identified and corrective actions are put in place to prevent reoccurrence. Ensure Drive and PLC repairs, replacements, or reprogramming issues are scheduled and executed as intended. Audit execution of Drive inspections (preventative maintenance routes) and installations to ensure compliance to Drive best practices and provide mechanism to "Check and Adjust". Stay current on latest technologies and maintenance strategies by participating in Drive roundtable events and conferences. Identify training needs for area teams and ensure craftsmen training matrix includes adequate Drive theory and maintenance skills. Lead and sustain Pine Hill Reliability Drive GMS Element. Work with Drive SMEs to continuously improve drive program activities (such as Integrated Action Plans and testing and rebuild procedures.) Be accountable for ensuring the Drive program for each area is adequately integrated with Operations and Maintenance team. Be the Drive and PLC advocate in area MWS teams. Review and audit Drive program reporting (examples: Drives or components out for rebuild report and SCR test result reports.) Troubleshooting of variable speed drive faults or unexpected/unexplained operation (which requires a working knowledge of AC and DC motor theory.)
The Skills You Will Bring:
B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering (Preferred) 10+ Years of Electrical and Instrumentation Experience, may be considered in lieu of Degree 5+ years’ experience at manufacturing facility Strong technical and maintenance background with Drive and PLC experience Ability to manage and lead multiple projects Proficient with Microsoft and SAP PM Applications Strong verbal and written communication skills Must have good interpersonal skills with ability to interact at all levels Must possess great time management skills
