Drive the Future - Business Control Management Intern

The Firm-wide Control Management organization is responsible for having a deep understanding of the business, its underlying processes and the controls environment across several categories. Those categories are i) Control design and expertise, ii) Risk and Controls identification & assessment, iii) Issues & Control Breaks and iv) Controls Governance & Reporting. The Control Management Organization is comprised of a central team as well as business and functions specific managers. 

The internship position, located in Bogota, will be part of the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) organization and support the control agenda for Colombia & Peru. The intern will support the team covering those Locations as part of the Firm-wide Control Management organization. 

Responsibilities include:

Build and assemble content material and presentations for the local and regional control forum meetings; Support Business Control Managers in building a comprehensive and broad picture of the control environment of the regional franchise across the line of business. This includes contacting teams from different locations to request information on operational risks and controls, errors and risk events, issues and action plans, understanding material provided in a critical manner to ensure good quality information Support the execution of the Control Management agenda for the countries. This consists in attending calls and engaging in a variety of initiatives with global and regional teams, such as the Business, Product, Control Management team, Legal, Compliance, Finance and Technology to conduct analysis and understand controls, processes and activities performed in the region Support the oversight and monitoring of regulatory issue management, helping validate corrective action plans according to Firm-wide guidelines; Assist on gathering, translating, analyzing and streamlining, information for regulatory reporting related to operational risk and internal controls; Participate in Error Debrief sessions to discuss errors and risk events associated to the local businesses and functions; Navigate JP Morgan’s system for operational risk management to enter and track control issues, action plans and risk events.

Qualifications include:

Students of  Engineering, Business Administration, Accounting or Economics English. Good communication skills (written and oral).  Knowledge of MS Office package; Organized, with strong focus on controls and ability to be flexible and prioritize deliverables at all times;
