The Axle System Design and Release Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and release of axle systems of an externally purchased axle system for vehicle programs. This role involves leading cross-functional teams, managing program timing, ensuring quality, and driving continuous improvement to meet or exceed warranty targets.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of experience in automotive engineering, with a focus on axle systems or axle components.
Even better, you may have...
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Strong knowledge of axle system/component design, development, and validation.
Experience working with external suppliers.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects.
Familiarity with PPAP and GPDS processes.
Experience with DFMEA and PFMEA.

What you'll do…
System Design and Development:
Manage axle system design, performance, and integration with the supplier. Manage requirements and lead design reviews with the supplier. Ensure design meets all performance, manufacturability, and cost requirements. Participate in DFMEA/PFMEA and develop validation plans.Program Management:
Lead CPMT meetings to track progress and resolve issues. Manage project timing, ensuring adherence to program milestones (GPDS). Proactively resolve technical issues and manage engineering changes. Maintain all documentation.Quality and Warranty:
Monitor warranty data. Lead supplier in root cause analysis. Implement quality improvements to reduce warranty claims. Ensure PPAP compliance and participate in supplier audits.Supplier Management:
Maintain regular communication with the supplier. Conduct quarterly on-site visits. Host in-person meetings. Travel to supplier plants quarterly.
