This position will represent the Commissioner of Public Safety. Interpret and review driving records, police reports, medical records and other documents, along with interviewing drivers, to evaluate their ability to drive safely and their eligibility for driving privileges. **Minimum Qualifications** One (1) year of working experience to include all of the following: + Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite tools. + Reading comprehension ability sufficient to understand, clearly communicate, apply and interpret law, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. + Understand and effectively carry out complex oral and written directions; and decision-making skills sufficient to make accurate and sound determinations on eligibility in accordance with the laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. + Accuracy and excellent attendance are essential. + Ability and willingness to rotate between the five evaluation locations within the St. Paul/Minneapolis area on a regular basis. + Ability to work cooperatively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and underserved communities. **Preferred Qualifications** + Two (2) years of experience involving decision-making and customer service responsibility within a complex policy environment while dealing with a high-volume customer base. + Public communication experience. + Familiarity with Driver compliance laws and rules, and experience interpreting and applying statues and rules. + Four-year college degree. **Physical Requirements** Requires occasionally moving and transporting such articles as file folders and small tools.
