The role
As a Driver Specialist, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll have a diverse role which includes the movement and Level 1 maintenance of a range of military and civilian type vehicles.
Day-to-day, you’ll support our vehicle mechanics and the site in all aspects of vehicle movement which allows for the vehicle mechanics to focus on their core work, repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. There is also the opportunity to do driving details which includes transporting people and equipment up and down the country.
Carry out general vehicle or equipment husbandry (oil leaks, deflated tyres and any other related activity including refuelling, washing and cleaning prior to transportation around the site Data input into the production systems Vehicle or equipment fault reporting where appropriate to line management
This position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Ashchurch.
Essential experience of the Driver Specialist:
IT literate in MS Office software (Word – Excel - PowerPoint - Outlook - Visio - Access) Vehicle Fleet Management and logistics experience (preferably MoD) Knowledge of JSP 800 (In particular - Vol 5 and Vol 7) Knowledge of the Movement and Transport Safety Regulations
Qualifications for the Driver Specialist:
Educated to Level 2 in National Qualification Framework (NQF) as a minimum (GCSE grade C or above, level 1 National Vocational qualification (NVQ), Level 1 diploma) Full UK C+E Driving licence is essentialSecurity Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
