Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Driver Supervisor to join our team in Hamilton, Ontario, reporting to the Director of Transportation. As a Driver Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of drivers across several locations. You will regularly audit current delivery and pick-up routes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements without sacrificing safety and customer service. Qualified candidates will be self-driven and demonstrate exceptional workplace safety standards, attention to detail, efficiency, customer service, continuous improvement and strong verbal and written communication skills.

What you're responsible for: 

Supervising and managing a team of drivers for the western locationsProviding guidance, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performanceOverseeing the day-to-day operations, safety regulations and proceduresWorking closely with a team of drivers and dispatchers to ensure timely service to our customersScheduling and coordinating driver assignments, routes, and deliveries to meet operational goals and customer demandsMonitoring driver performance, conduct regular performance evaluations, and implement improvement plans when necessaryEnsuring compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies, including safety standards and vehicle maintenanceMaintaining accurate records and reports related to driver activities, performance, and incidents

Qualifications

To join our team:

AZ or DZ license preferred, roll-off or lugger experience is an asset2+ years experience in a supervisory role5+ years experience in the transportation, logistics, or solid waste industryIn-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and compliance requirementsExcellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse teamStrong problem-solving abilities and a track record of making effective decisions under pressureProficient in using Microsoft Office and transportation management software and technology for tracking and reportingGEOTAB experience is an assetValid driver's license with a clean driving recordWillingness to travel to the USAvailability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed, available by phone after-hours
