The Drop Bury Laborer is part of an underground utility construction crew and reports to a crew lead or construction manager. Employees will use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and a drop bury plow. On the job training is provided regarding safety, construction methods, and how to operate tools and construction equipment. This role is responsible for burying drop cables for fiber to the home projects safely and efficiently.

Utilize tools and/or a plow to trench a line 8-12 inches deep from vault to houseBury fiber drops and restore the areaWork within residential areas being considerate of homeowner’s propertyAnalyze utility locating marks to determine safe diggingDrive to multiple markets within a day to complete burialsMove materials, drive vehicles and equipment to jobsiteMaintain jobsite, equipment, and vehicle cleanliness dailyFollow safety procedures while working as part of a team to meet production goalsRepresent the company in a professional manner to the publicCommunicate with homeowners as neededReport completed drops, burial issues, etc to supervisorOther duties as assigned 

Qualifications and Requirements: 

Valid Driver's License is requiredObtain a DOT medical card and pass drug screenAbility to work outside year-round.Communicate and work with others respectfully Knowledge on 811 regulations and underground safety procedures

Physical Requirements: 

The successful candidate will be able to perform the following with or without reasonable accommodation: 

Must be able to hear and have visual acuity including close vision Ability to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to walk, stoop, climb, kneel, bend, crawl and move through a job site Must be able to be physically active for 8 hours per day


Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is: $18-24 hourly

 

Actual base pay for this job will depend on the candidate's primary work location and other factors, such as relevant skills and experience. Pavlov Media is committed to complying with the Equal Pay Act and places a strong emphasis on internal equity when determining compensation. Final pay will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and alignment with our internal equity standards, ensuring fairness and consistency across the organization. The salary banding for this role also allows room for growth, with opportunities for pay increases within the band based on performance and contributions.
