Drop & Count Supervisor

The Supervisor, Drop & Count, under the supervision of the Assistant Manager, Drop & Count, is responsible for overseeing the count room and drop team in planning, controlling, and supervising activities. They ensure proper preparation of daily reconciliation paperwork for various counts, posting information to the online accounting system, completing reports, and investigating discrepancies. The supervisor must also adhere to the Gaming Commission's Tribal Gaming Minimum Internal Controls (TICS) and the Gaming Commission Regulations (GCR) by studying standards, enforcing adherence, and advising management on necessary actions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Responsible for overseeing the accurate preparing and processing of high-volume gaming machine currency and tickets, Table Games chips, currency and coupons, CDU currency and tickets, and ATM currency; Ensures that staff remains in compliance with operational procedures, processes and regulations including safeguarding company assets and prepares all necessary paperwork to support and reconcile all money and vouchers collected and counted.  2.    Responsible for overseeing the Slot Drop processes and ensures that all Hot and Cold boxes are accounted for and secure; Investigates and documents all hot and cold box discrepancies and reports all findings to Drop & Count Management.3.    Inputs soft count and other financial data into an assigned computer system; maintains all automated records; ensures accuracy of input data. Investigates and documents all count variances and posts all necessary reports; Maintains records and logs related to the soft count drops, money totals, discrepancies, daily activities and assigned duties; Operates currency counters and associated computers and software; Confirms that all necessary forms of documentation for Drop & Counts are completed for submission to Casino Accounting, Table Games and the Cage Operations Department. Ensures the delivery of Drop & Count documentation to the revenue audit assistants.4.    Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles. 

 EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

Minimum one (1) year experience of working with high volumes of cash or equivalent required.

Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience is preferred.

Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred

Requires eye and hand coordination and manual dexterity; requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols; requires the use of a computer, currency counter, calculator, copier and telephone

Must maintain high confidentiality

Working knowledge of the Gaming Industry and the legal regulations governing gaming preferred

Ability to work efficiently, independently, and cohesively, consistently producing quality results

Ability to multi-task and work will in a fast paced, team-oriented environment

Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in spoken and written form

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience

Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.

☐ Authorized Driver: Role requires operation or driving of Tribe-owned vehicles or driving patron vehicles. A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier is required.

☐ Driving Responsibilities: Role requires regular commuting between locations. A valid driver's license and vehicle insurance with minimum liability limits is required. Role will not operate or drive Tribe-owned vehicles or patron vehicles.

☒ No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.
