Drosophila Laboratory Technician – limited
Description

Come join our exceptional Department of Neurobiology, and help lead the advancement of cutting-edge basic science research into explorations of the brain and central nervous system.  In this Staff Research Associate 2 role you’ll work in the nexus of neuroscience research at UCLA, and will serve as laboratory technician in our lab studying Drosophila.  

Responsibilities include:

Maintaining Drosophila stocks and genetic crosses.    Collecting and analyzing sleep data from Drosophila.   Fly brain dissection, immunostaining, confocal microscopy, and image analysis.    Assisting in preparing funding proposals and status reports.    Preparing figures and text for abstracts and research manuscripts.     Assisting in the designing of experiments. Maintaining complete and accurate records. Preparing slides and posters for research presentations. Performing other administrative duties as assigned.

Note this position is a full-time limited appointment for 5 months and may convert to career. 

Salary Range: $28.88 – $46.46 Hourly
