Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Drug Manufacturing Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, opening, and verifying specimens in accordance with SAMHSA mandatory guidelines and those of other regulatory organizations. You will also be expected to adhere to all security procedures to ensure the confidentiality of donor information.

ResponsibilitiesReceive and open specimens delivered to the laboratory for analysisReview and document the acceptability of specimen and chain of custody formsDestroy specimens as neededClean and maintain the work area dailyInspect all trash bags once aliquoting process is completed to ensure sample and document removalProcess Triage requestsAssist in the designated areaPrepare samples for shipmentAdhere to all security procedures for ensuring the confidentiality of donor informationComply with company policyEssential SkillsBasic ability to use a computerBasic understanding of laboratory techniques and proceduresBasic ability to communicate ideasAdvanced understanding of certification requirements for SAMHSA, CAP-FUDT, and other regulatory bodiesBasic understanding of the function of a Laboratory Information System (LIS) and other laboratory computer systemsAdditional Skills & QualificationsAbility to lift and/or move 25 poundsFull body movement capabilityCorrected vision and hearing to meet minimum acceptable normsAbility to cope with stress due to production obligationsAbility to read and comprehend SOP, Federal (49 CFR Part 40), and CAP-FUDT guidelinesAbility to communicate with other employees and supervisorsAbility to provide input and recommendations on operationsWhy Work Here?

Work Environment

Shift: Tue-Sat. This position is non-exempt, and hours over 40 will be paid at time and a half. The work environment includes a climate-controlled office and testing laboratory, with potential exposure to toxic or hazardous materials.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, Virginia.

Pay: $15/hr.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.00/hr.
