Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics Intern
**Description** Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics department located at our Ridgefield, Connecticut facility. As an Intern, you will learn the process of small molecule drug development while collaborating with experienced scientists. You will also have the opportunity to explore cutting edge technologies and novel in vitro models to better understand the mechanisms of drug metabolism in humans. Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim´s high regard for our employees. **Duties & Responsibilities** + Design and conduct in vitro assays to investigate the regulation of various drug metabolizing enzymes and mechanisms of interactions + Evaluate the applicability of novel hepatocyte systems as in vitro tools to better understand drug metabolism in humans + Interpret data and communicate results and impact effectively + Comply with applicable regulations and perform all work in a safe and responsible manner + Maintain proper study records in accordance with internal SOPs and corporate policies **Requirements** + Must be a graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing with a focus on Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Science and / or other related coursework + Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship + Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred + Major or minor in related field of internship + Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university + Graduate and Advanced Degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university **Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:** + Prior experience working in a laboratory independently. Previous experience with cell culture or other in vitro hepatic models is beneficial. + Effective written and oral communication skills **Compensation Data** This position offers an hourly rate of $20.00 - $33.00 USD / hr. commensurate to the level of degree program in which an applicant is actively enrolled.
