We are looking for a Drug Products Category Lead who is strategic, adaptable and collaborative to join our Procurement Department, based in our UCB campus located in Braine-l'alleud, Belgium

About the role

The Drug Product portfolio is an important category at UCB as, to complement our manufacturing capabilities, we rely on several External Partners to supply medicines to our patients. The increased complexity and its growing significance are important challenges ahead and this not only for development and launch of new products but also for the lifecycle management of commercial medicines.  

Who you’ll work with

You will be a strategic partner to senior management and the team is primarily focused on upstream procurement, sustainability, business partnering, market analysis, risk management, demand management, negotiation, contract management and supplier relationship management.

What you’ll do

Lead a +€300 million strategic portfolio of spend which will be growing substantially in the next coming years in the areas of pharma, biologics and gene therapy.Build solid relationships with the different technical value streams and the extended stakeholder eco-system to fully understand the business and the technical requirements.Provide a holistic approach for Drug Product across the value streams and develop sound commercial procurement strategies which are well articulated and aligned.Provide strategic guidance to Sourcing Category Managers in the development and execution of projects.Analyse market trends, the competitive landscape and the dynamics around the supply markets enabling the development of sound procurement strategies.Manage and nurture external partner’s relationships.Establish business agreements and their lifecycle management.

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

Minimum 8 years of experience in similar strategic Procurement or Sales role with a background in the pharmaceutical industry.Strong knowledge of the AF&F Drug Product CDMO market and the main differentiation factors.Great communication skills - ability to think creatively, engage in effective communication and promote change with internal stakeholders and suppliers
