RISE (a consortium, led by Change Grow Live, and includes Central and North West London NHS Mental Health Trust, and service user-led organisation Build on Belief) is the integrated end-to-end treatment and recovery service which offers a wide range of pharmacological and psychosocial interventions to Ealing residents 18 years and over.
The Dual Diagnosis Team for RISE supports service users dealing with complex co-existing mental health and substance use conditions. A dedicated pathway of care will enable collaborative delivery of support by multi-agency teams in response to their needs in order to create & deliver combined treatment plans which are appropriate & effective in addressing their substance misuse issues.
A post has arisen in this Team for a specialist Recovery / Engagement Worker role. As RISE continues to increase the provision of support, access, and assessment for individuals who due to their complex mental health condition(s) have historically been unable to engage and/or be retained in substance misuse treatment.

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week
Full Time Salary: £27,449.53 - £31,529.41 dependent on experience, Pro Rata for part time
Allowance: £4,072.06 Inner London Weighting Pro Rata
ResponsibilitiesThe post holder will carry a dedicated caseload of clients with complex Co-existing Mental Health and Substance Use disorders, who have compounding issues and/or other needs; including non-compliance or engagement with support services, neurodevelopmental conditions, learning disabilities, challenging personality disorders, poor physical health, lack of community &/or family support, unsuitable living conditions, challenges from multiple services involvement and of course safeguarding or exploitation concerns.
The post holder will work as an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team of Recovery Practitioners, Doctors, Nurses, Psychiatrists, and Psychologists; to deliver high quality provision from point of entry into RISE. The role will support clients treatment/recovery journey; providing - screening, assessment, pharmacological support, psychosocial support - cognitive & behavioural based interventions, motivational interviewing interventions, recovery planning and onward referral; reducing drug and alcohol related harm to service users & the wider community; and promoting carer, service user & community involvement.
The post holder will need to work flexibly across the local community and inpatient settinings with hours to suit service need.
The team is peripatetic rather than hub based with the post holder expected to conduct assessments & reviews using assertive in-reach in a variety of venues – including Acute Psychiatric Wards, Substance Misuse Hubs, Community Mental Health Services, GP Surgeries, and Supported Accommodation.
