Responsible for dealing games of Poker & Blackjack, as well as supervising the floor by directing operations and administrative functions to ensure the poker & blackjack room is financially and managerially successful.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities While seated at a poker table, deals games of poker to guests.Controls wagering and “the pot” while game is in play.Collects casino’s vig from each pot.Informs guests of poker room promotions.While seated at a blackjack table, deals games of blackjack to guests. Explains the rules of blackjack to guests that may have questions.Collects losing wagers from players. Pays off winning hands in accordance with payoff schedule.Maintains playing card deck integrity according to company policy. Supervise blackjack games; verify blackjack payouts to ensure they are accurate. Adheres to table games policies, procedures and internal controls.Verify winning jackpots for compliance with gaming laws.Assist in developing promotions, implementing and monitoring for success.Apply written poker and blackjack rules when rendering a decision.Monitor all card games, open and close games. Coordinate poker & blackjack room support requirement with other departments.Assist and direct with poker tournaments.Ensures compliance with internal control procedures, state and tribal gaming laws, and the Bank Secrecy Act.Understands and adheres to all Title 31 procedures.Adheres to table games policies, procedures and internal controls.Possesses a working knowledge of all table games, house rules, and table games counting methods and procedures. Performs other job related duties as assigned. QualificationsAbility to maintain strict confidentiality of classified information. Knowledgeable in all aspects of poker room operations and types of poker games. Knowledgeable in how to successfully deal blackjack and have an understanding of all blackjack game regulations. Must be able to handle casino chips and currency in an accurate and efficient manner. Ability to tactfully and diplomatically interact with the guests and team members. Must possess a high regard for customer service and team member relations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum two years as a poker dealer, and at least 6 months as a blackjack dealer.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Public speaking skills are important to the successful conduct of this position. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to guests or team members.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, rates, ratio, proportions and percentages. Strong mathematical skills and ability to make accurate payoffs in a timely manner.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to apply legal, regulatory and procedure doctrine, concepts and policy to practical situations. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The team member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms; uses hands to finger, handle, or feel. The team member is required to sit for long periods of time. The team member may be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is a fast paced work environment and the position requires the ability to cope with it. The casino environment has moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment.
WORKING HOURS:
Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require Team Members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
