PRIMARY FUNCTION

Dismantles, inspects, repairs and assembles all types of mining equipment along with associated component.  Includes, but not limited to, gearing and bearing setup, hydraulic installation, and troubleshooting.

 

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT

Hand tools, pneumatic tools, welding equipment, tow motor, hoists, micrometers, height gauges, calipers, band saw, cutting torches, hose crimp, hydraulic pressure systems, computer, etc.

SAMPLE WORK PROCEDURE

Dismantles and inspects complete machines and their component parts. Determines necessary repairs and orders parts as required Installs bearings, oil seals, etc., and assembles the completed part.  Includes setting up endplay, backlash, gear mesh. Installs repaired parts on complete machines using necessary hand tools and welding equipment Cuts and installs hydraulic hoses and fittings Uses press to straighten parts and cutting equipment to reshape parts Uses tow motors and hoists to move and position parts Operates steam cleaner as necessary. Repair/install hydraulic systems.  Read/comprehend piping diagrams and hydraulic schematics. Obeys all safety rules and performs housekeeping functions.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

 

__________  Two years experience in heavy equipment or automotive

Transmissions preferred; will accept equivalent education in lieu of experience

__________  Able to work any shift, overtime or weekends

__________  Able to learn and work with others
