We have an exciting opportunity for a Dust Monitor Project Engineer to join the team with Nexus, a teammate company.\n
The Dust Monitor Project Engineer will:\n\nDeveloping project documentation and maintaining status of drawings, and procurements.\nWorking with the systems engineering team to ensure the test strategy will provide sufficient information on the system performance and capabilities\nInspection of hardware upon receipt to verify match with fabrication drawing\/models\nTest rig and equipment buildup as needed\nPerform all system testing\nDevelop test plan and test reports\nSchedule testing with test facilities\nWork with the systems engineering team to develop a test schedule\nWork with procurement personnel and vendors to order and secure procurements\nData analysis of test results\nAssist project management with configuration control of project documentation\nDevelopment of test procedures including working with various organizations across JSC for flight certification of hardware.\nWorking with the community, specifically the HLS program and the HLS provider, to develop integrated operation con-ops\nDevelop presentations.\nDevelop logistics, manufacturing and procurement plan\nWork in a team environment and report to the project manager and the lead systems engineer to provide status on progress and issues and for support.\nPerform other duties as required.\u200b\n\n \n
Requisition Qualifications:\n

Depending on the candidate's experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.\n\nTypically requires a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.\nExperience with the development of project planning documents\nExperience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware systems\nKnowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design software and tools\nAbility to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Office products\nExperience with cost and budget analysis\nExperience working in an integrated product team\n\n
Requisition Preferences:\n\n\u200bFamiliar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures\nPrior experience working in a system development project\/program \nFamiliarity with feasibilty assessments and trade studies\nUnderstanding of the Moon2Mars mission and concept of operations\n
