At CGI, we are seeking a talented Dust Monitor Project Engineer to join our team with Nexus, a teammate company. As NASA’s largest engineering solutions provider, we work together with NASA at centers across the United States to achieve great things that inspire people all over the globe. This position is located in Houston, TX.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

In this role, you will be responsible for developing project documentation, maintaining the status of drawings and procurements, and working with the systems engineering team to ensure the test strategy provides sufficient information on system performance and capabilities. You will also inspect hardware, build up test rigs and equipment, perform system testing, develop test plans and reports, and analyze test results.

The Dust Monitor Project Engineer will:

-Developing project documentation and maintaining status of drawings, and procurements.
-Working with the systems engineering team to ensure the test strategy will provide sufficient information on the system performance and capabilities
-Inspection of hardware upon receipt to verify match with fabrication drawing/models
-Test rig and equipment buildup as needed
-Perform all system testing
-Develop test plan and test reports
-Schedule testing with test facilities
-Work with the systems engineering team to develop a test schedule
-Work with procurement personnel and vendors to order and secure procurements
-Data analysis of test results
-Assist project management with configuration control of project documentation
-Development of test procedures including working with various organizations across JSC for flight certification of hardware.
-Working with the community, specifically the HLS program and the HLS provider, to develop integrated operation con-ops
-Develop presentations.
-Develop logistics, manufacturing and procurement plan
-Work in a team environment and report to the project manager and the lead systems engineer to provide status on progress and issues and for support.
-Perform other duties as required.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

-Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
-Experience with the development of project planning documents
-Experience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space hardware systems
-Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design software and tools
-Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings
-Familiarity with Microsoft Office products
-Experience with cost and budget analysis
-Experience working in an integrated product team
-Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:
-Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures
-Prior experience working in a system development project/program
-Familiarity with feasibilty assessments and trade studies
-Understanding of the Moon2Mars mission and concept of operations?

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $69,700.00 - $137,100.00.
