Job Description

Our Duty Manager plays a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the airport, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for passengers, staff, and airline partners. This position involves managing operational issues, responding to emergencies, and making real-time decisions to maintain operational flow and safety. Our Duty Manager liaises with various departments, including security, customer service, and ground handling, to coordinate efforts and address any challenges that arise. Also, you are responsible for monitoring compliance with airport regulations and standards, providing leadership and guidance to staff, and ensuring a high level of customer service and operational excellence.

 

WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A DUTY MANAGER

You like working as a team, toward a common goalOversee day-to-day airport operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficient and safe proceduresCoordinate with various departments, including security, customer service, and maintenance, for seamless operationsRespond to and manage operational emergencies and unusual situationsEnsure compliance with all aviation regulations and company policiesMonitor passenger flow and terminal activities, implementing adjustments for optimal service deliveryAddress and resolve customer complaints and operational issues in a timely mannerSupervise, guide, and support operational staff, providing leadership and directionCommunicate effectively with airline representatives, ground handlers, and airport authoritiesYou have a great attention to detailYou enjoy working with a team or individually to accomplish your tasksStrong customer service skillsLike to build long term relationships with your customersPhysical activity may include:Stand and walk for extended periods of timeAbility to lift 70 pounds or moreBe able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environmentClose vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus) Qualifications Minimum age of 18 years oldAbility to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, to include documents5 Years transportation/aviation operations experienceKnowledge of the Aviation IndustryComfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tabletsAbility to pass a drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
