The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Event Technology, the role of the Duty Manager is to support day to day in the operational duties to ensure that events run smoothly from an operational perspective within the venue. This role requires an individual with a high level of understanding of AV with demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of event production.

Responsibilities

Assists in the installation, operation and pack down of equipment in a safe manner as requiredAssist the Operations Team to ensure the efficient running of event staging services within the venueEnsure the smooth and efficient running of the audiovisual department activitiesCheck rooms including set up of audio visual equipment prior to function commencementAssist where needed, the rostering/sourcing of crew to complete daily tasksAssist crew with the responsibility for the maintenance and storage of all equipmentWhere necessary, make changes and additions to jobs quoted to ensure the correct equipment is on the order and availableAssist in stock control and monitor the integrity of equipment for the venueRoster equipment in conjunction with operations coordinatorsAssist in the effective and efficient rostering of casual and full-time crew to ensure show delivery needs are metRegularly visit shows to monitor standards and guide and mentor crew to ensure that agreed show standards are achieved

Your Background

Proven track record of managing a team of peopleExperience in the Hospitality or Events industry highly desirableDemonstrated effective decision making skillsAbility to maintain composure under pressureTime management skills; the ability to manage multiple and competing deadlinesHighly developed customer service skillsExcellent oral and written communication skills
