The e-Commerce Director will drive the strategic direction and expansion of the direct-to-consumer and marketplaces online business by delivering a premium product, service, and shopping experience. With a focus on customer satisfaction, this role will leverage omni-channel opportunities to maximize ECCO USA, Canada and Latin America’s digital commercial impact. Through an outstanding online experience and a thoughtfully curated product offering, this position will focus on enhancing customer lifetime value and implementing a strategy that emphasizes retaining loyal customers and attracting new through DTC and Marketplaces channels.

 

 

As our e-Commerce Director, your responsibilities will include:

Lead DTC eCommerce Strategy and Operations in North and Latin America: Oversee the full spectrum of ECCO’s DTC eCommerce strategy, including consumer acquisition, digital and omnichannel points of conversion, operations and customer care, retention strategies through loyalty program and CRM. Marketplace Sales through 1P and 3P Models: Oversee sales strategies on major online marketplaces, managing both first-party (1P) and third-party (3P) models to expand brand presence and drive revenue. Utilize the retail media instruments to drive awareness and sales. Loyalty Program Implementation: Develop and implement a comprehensive loyalty program aimed at enhancing consumer engagement, increasing repeat purchases, and fostering brand loyalty together with Marketing department and Global leaders. Customer Retention and Growth through CRM Strategy: Lead a robust CRM strategy focused on retaining and growing the customer base by leveraging data to create personalized and impactful consumer interactions. Omnichannel Customer Journey Development: Design and implement a seamless omnichannel experience that integrates online and offline touchpoints, enhancing the customer journey and creating a cohesive brand experience. Lead DTC eCommerce Strategy and Operations: Oversee the full spectrum of ECCO’s DTC eCommerce strategy, including growth initiatives, merchandising, data analytics, and daily operations. Financial Oversight: Accountable for P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and profit management. Ensure sales goals are met, with a focus on full-price sell-through and continuous forecast refinement. Digital Marketing and Sales Initiatives: Drive the creation and execution of digital marketing and eCommerce sales programs that support ECCO’s premium brand while fueling accelerated growth. Global Collaboration and Influence: Represent North America as a key market in ECCO’s global landscape, working closely with international eCommerce teams to refine best practices, streamline reporting, and contribute to global growth goals. Trend and Technology Awareness: Stay informed on the latest technologies, competitive strategies, and trends to effectively adapt and drive business growth. Team and eCommerce Leadership: Oversee the eCommerce team for the US, integrating merchandising, content, new feature development, and digital marketing strategies to support premium positioning and growth. Innovation and Mobile Optimization: Develop and refine mobile strategies, new features, and enhancements, ensuring alignment with global goals. Cross-Departmental Partnership: Collaborate with teams such as demand planning, finance, retail, sales operations, and IT to optimize resources and drive ECCO USA’s DTC success. Omni-Channel Strategy Partner: Support omni-channel initiatives aimed at achieving excellence in “buy anywhere, return anywhere,” click-and-collect, endless aisle, and detailed reporting. Digital Marketing Mix Management: Lead SEM, SEO, mobile, retargeting, and programmatic efforts to optimize the digital marketing mix effectively. Wholesale and Retail Team Alignment: Ensure synchronization between wholesale, retail, and marketing teams for cohesive program execution. Performance Reporting and Analytics: Generate and analyze reports to assess online performance, such as sales statistics, traffic, and click-through data. Consumer Service and Profitability: Enhance services such as delivery, returns, and loyalty programs, balancing consumer value with profitability. Process and Efficiency Improvement: Consistently identify and implement processes that enhance overall efficiency and growth opportunities. Vendor and Partner Management: Maintain productive relationships with vendors and partners to support sales and marketing goals. Customer Service and Distribution Coordination: Work with Customer Service and Distribution teams to ensure timely order fulfillment, returns processing, and a strong consumer value proposition. Social Media Insights and Strategy: Provide guidance on effective social media engagement and landscape navigation. Support for Global eCommerce Initiatives: Assist in the development and implementation of ECCO’s global eCommerce projects as needed. Team Development: Lead, mentor, and support team members’ professional growth, encouraging innovation and aligning with ECCO’s values of passion, innovation, and sustainability.

If you have…  

7+ years of experience in position of E-commerce Director for retail brands with P&L responsibility. Experience with a premium consumer brand – brands including retail and/or footwear industry a plus. Proven experience in running a digital marketing strategy. Proven experience in CRM strategy and consumer segmentation. Proven experience in driving omnichannel operations and building processes. Proven experience in digital products development (website and mobile app) for retail with focus on commercial performance and metrics development. Proven experience in running sales through key online marketplaces like Amazon and Walmart. Solid knowledge of e-Commerce marketing and business principles with proven success in the development and implementation of online marketing strategies. Proven experience with e-Commerce new feature enablement, innovation and mobile programs. Proven ability to lead and influence both projects and teams. Experience working in an international organization a plus, with ability to provide insight and expertise regarding global e-Commerce efforts. Demandware experience is a plus. Strong expertise in computer programs, including MS Office. Ability to travel domestically and internationally. Ability to read, write and speak English at a proficient level. Ability to travel up to 10%, both domestic and internationally.
