E-Discovery Attorney
Overview This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office in Raleigh, NC. Responsibilities As an E-Discovery Attorney within our Legal Department, you will be the point of contact for e-Discovery matters (as a practitioner). You will execute project plans for each stage of the EDRM, collaborate with clients and technology providers to leverage advanced technologies in the e-Discovery platform, implement custom workflows to reduce costs and enhance speed-to-evidence for clients, work closely with e-Discovery vendor and national e-Discovery counsel on ESI protocols, Protective Orders, review protocols, training guides and review workflows, provide internal and/or external review teams with necessary feedback and guidance to deliver industry leading speed and accuracy, train to foster a collaborative team environment that identifies and solves problems. You will also manage a variety of litigation and pre-litigation matters, and assist with investigations, respond to subpoenas, requests for information and other court-related documents. Qualifications Juris Doctor (JD) and Bachelor’s Degrees from accredited institutions and at least five (5) years of post-JD legal/litigation experience. Additional Requirements: Experience in all phases of the EDRM, including identification, preservation, collection, review, and production. Substantive legal experience outside of eDiscovery, including litigation and internal investigations. Experience in conducting interviews with IT, developing, and implementing a preservation strategy. Experience in negotiating ESI protocols. Experience in conducting custodial interviews. Experience in Relativity and familiarity with other e-discovery tools. Experience in drafting and testing keyword searches. Experience in document review management at a law firm, in-house legal department, or consulting firm. Experience in document production in Relativity and quality assurance testing of coding calls. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Managing multiple fast-moving projects at a given time. Must be able to resolve complex legal issues and provide quality legal services in a timely manner. Interpersonal skills. Advanced organizational and multi-tasking skills. Customer service skills. Ability to work independently but take direction as required. Problem-solving skills. Collaborating with others. Ability to manage outside counsel. Preferred Qualifications: North Carolina law license preferred but not required. Experience handling complex litigation in a leading law firm or corporate legal department, or equivalent experience serving in legal functions within the United States military or government.
