**What You'll Be Doing**
**Job Scope:** Generally responsible for performing all aspects for complete design of electrical/instrumentation assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design methods. This level is expected to assist in the design of larger and more complex electrical/instrumentation assignments. This work will be performed under general supervision.
**Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:**
+ Areas of responsibility include production facilities, power area and support buildings.
+ Includes knowledge of process control loops interfaced with a distributed control system and programmable logic controllers, interlock systems, electrical distribution systems, and application of motors, variable speed drives, electrical heating and heat tracing.
+ Assist in providing component specifications and scope development, produce draft drawings in all aspects of Electrical and Instrument design included but not limited to P&ID’s, Motor Schematics, Single Lines, Logic Drawings, Loadings, Panel Schedules, equipment arraignments, installation details and Cable Tray drawings, and support construction installation.
+ Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards.
+ Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team.
+ Producing installation details, motor control center single lines, electric room layouts, motor control elementaries, connection diagrams, cable schedules, control panel layouts and grounding, lighting, power and instrumentation plans under minimal supervision.
+ Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.
+ Providing on-site assistance during startup.
**Ideal Background**
**Education:** Associate degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting is preferred.
**Certification:** Certification is not required at this level.
**Experience:** This position requires 5+ years of relevant industrial experience in electrical and instrumentation drafting and design
**Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:**
+ Documentation includes P&I diagrams, loop sheets and wiring diagrams.
+ Interlocking system design requires knowledge of safety system design requirements, electromechanical relay systems, programmable logic controllers (PLC), logic diagrams, ladder diagrams and other electrical processes. High voltage knowledge a plus.
+ Requires working knowledge of the National Electrical Code, process design and Extensive experience in the use of Bentley MicroStation (or equivalent).
+ Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Maintenance of information in computer databases is also required.
+ Must be self-managed and capable of working in a team environment dealing directly with members of the production, mechanical, technical and construction organizations.

+ Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
