E&I Technical Leader

Your Opportunity as the E&I Technical Leader

Provide day to day leadership to the Longmont Uncrustables Electrical & Instrumentation team. Coordinate between operations, engineering, information systems, and E&Is to support and build capability within the E&I team as well as maximize equipment availability, minimize unplanned downtime, and extend equipment life.

Location: Longmont, CO

Work Arrangements: 100% onsite at the facility, M-F

In this role you will:

Enhance overall safety, quality, and productivity in the Bakery, Sandwich Making, and Utilities department by providing guidance, implementing effective predictive and preventative PM programs, and building capability in all Electrical & Instrumentation technicians.

Manage time and attendance for designated line/area (including payroll approval).

Provide performance-based feedback, including annual Performance Appraisals.

Drive high-performance work culture by engaging with team members on the floor and coaching to problem solve, make decisions, and become self-reliant.

Manage E&I coordinator to perform effective personnel planning and scheduling and meeting planning/scheduling metrics.

Engage and build capability on the floor by empowering E&I technicians to progress through the step-up cards.

Participate in developing and executing advanced electrical training and qualification programs; participate in assessments, ensure effective training, and maintain consistent qualification standards.

Maximize equipment availability, minimize unplanned downtime, and extend equipment life through a sustainable predictive maintenance (PM) program, and implementation of loss elimination projects.

Responsible for development and improvement of maintenance procedures to facilitate the PM program.

Work with teams and department leadership on effective E&I PM planning.

Address gaps in department performance through the implementation and effective coaching of Smucker Continuous Improvement methodologies; foster a zero-loss culture.

Own a safety and/or quality key element.

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree

5+ years of experience leading, supervising, or managing others

2+ years of manufacturing experience

Ability to effectively engage, lead, and build capabilities of others

Strong communication and interpersonal skills including presentation skills

Ability to work and influence within a team environment

Understands technical systems and terminology

Experience learning and integrating new technologies

Experience with plant systems software (Proficy, EAM/CMMS, etc.)

Proven project management skills include managing multiple priorities

Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications

Willingness to work off-shifts or weekends as needed

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:

Electrical experience in food manufacturing

Demonstrated results in manufacturing maintenance utilizing maintenance systems

Colorado Specific Salary Range

91,000 - 132,000

This role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan and Holiday bonus
