Position: E&I Technician
Pay: $28.26 - $37.84/hr – depending on experience/knowledge
Shift: Day shift
While reporting to the Plant Engineer, the E&I Technician is responsible for the connection of wires to circuit breakers, transformers and other components. Responsible for observing and following all safety regulations with required PPE.
What you'll be doing:
Ensure the integrity and reliability of the plant’s electrical, instrumentation, and automation systems.Advanced level of installation, diagnosis, continued calibration, documentation, maintenance and repair of all electrical, instrumentation and control systems.Ability to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with current NEC.Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes of NEC, OSHA, and CalOSHA policy.Perform rigging activities, safety-related function and other miscellaneous electrical functions.Demonstrate safe and proficient use of shop tools (both hand and power)Familiar with preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and corrective maintenance functions as related to electrical equipment.Demonstrate mechanical knowledge.Understanding and troubleshooting of VFD’sPaper mill and boiler DCS / QCS computers and control systems.Paper mill and boiler instrumentation. This includes flow, level, temperature, pressure transmitters and control elements (valves, actuators, etc.) on steam, condensate, pulp, water, etc.Must demonstrate ability to safely utilize forklifts, boom lifts, and scissor lifts.Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot PLC’s. To include reading of ladder diagrams and electrical prints.Must be physically capable of performing work from ladders, scaffolding, and roof to install, maintain, or repair electrical equipment.Proficient in testing systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, and voltmeters.Familiar with lighting fixtures and lighting systems.Discipline to fill out work order documentation and participate in post failure analysis.Perform duties in a work environment that will be hot, cold, dirty, and fast paced.General support of the Maintenance department as required, such as assisting with troubleshooting, call-ins, unscheduled overtime, 12-hour shifts, scheduled and emergency repairs, shutdown and outage work, projects, etc. Must be able to work after hour during equipment downtime.This position is located in City of Industry, CA. The City of Industry is an industrial suburb of Los Angeles in the San Gabriel Valley region of Los Angeles County.
