Job DescriptionAs the Electro-Separations Machine Operator, you will operate brand new membrane coating equipment. Some tasks that you’ll be doing include chemical mixing, quality checks, operating the manufacturing line, troubleshooting the line, and packaging. You will perform quality workmanship and keep scheduled deadlines to meet customer expectations.
Shift Hours: Monday through Friday from 6 AM to 2 PM
As the Electro-Separations Machine Operator, you will:
Observe all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) rules, including housekeeping practices; participate in EHS meetings, investigations, and auditsProactively communicate and address safety concernsSet-up, operate, and clean membrane production equipmentConduct handling and mixing of chemicals according to prescribed formulas and procedures (strong acids, bases, and solvents are used in regular processes). Extensive PPE will be required during this task. Enter production data into database, forms, logs, and SAP accurately, clearly, and completelyMove raw materials and finished products to proper locationsMonitor and document raw material and final product quality, including making adjustments to coating processes to assure membrane meets specificationsPerform troubleshooting to identify and correct root cause of malfunction to minimize scrapFollow all life-critical policies and procedures (Lock-out/Tag-Out, Confined Space Entry, Line-Break)Contain, label, store, and transfer hazardous waste according to applicable regulationsSupport area cycle countsPerform regularly scheduled maintenance and calibration proceduresPrepare and package membraneAssist in process changes and new product developmentPerform any additional duties as assigned by Supervisor, Facilitator, or LeadQualifications
Required:
Minimum of 1 year (12-months) of experience as a machine operator, maintenance technician, chemical mixer/handler, or military service in a technical background -OR- minimum of 6 months of experience as a membrane operatorAbility to lift/ handle up to 50 lbsWillingness to work with chemicals, including solvents and acid.Ability to work overtimeWilling to perform preventative maintenance (changing filter, strainers, cleaning)Willingness to wear personal protective equipment, for example safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs, safety shoes, and, on an intermittent basis, respirator protection in the form of a PAPR as well as a chemical resistant suitWillingness to be trained and practice forklift operations, LOTO operations, confined space operations (HVAC HEPA Filter Changes)Preferred:
Associate’s Degree in engineering, industrial technology, instrumentation, automated systems and robotics, electronics engineering technology, industrial controls and robotics, right skills now for manufacturing, chemistry, or similar technical associates degreeFamiliarity with plumbing/ fluid transfer basics including valve orientation, air bleeding, isolation, and moreInventory control experience using SAP or other inventory control programExperience troubleshooting a continuous web or paper handling processAbility to complete simple shop math calculations (percentages, chemical usage rates, yields, etc.)Programmable Logic Control experienceHigh attention for detail to ensure safe and accurate chemical mixingKnowledge and understanding of web-handling manufacturingTrained to operate a fork truck in a manufacturing areaStrong communication skillsAbility to learn and understand all policies, practices, and proceduresExperience working with chemicalsAdditional InformationAt Veolia, we realize diverse teams make smarter decisions, deliver better results, and build stronger

● Compensation - The salary range is tied to the market for similarly benchmarked roles. The range is
not an absolute, but a guide, and offers will be based on the individual candidate’s knowledge, skills,
experience, and market conditions, as well as internal peer equity. Depending upon all the preceding
considerations for the final selected individual candidate, the offer may be lower or higher than the
stated range: $21 per hour
