The anticipated salary range for this role is between $166,000.00 and $205,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees. **Role Description** SMBC is seeking an experienced hands-on Enterprise Architect to do the following: 1. **Tool Strategy Development** : Lead the development and implementation of the enterprise architecture tooling strategy to enhance architectural practices across the organization. 2. **Technology Evaluation** : Assess and select appropriate architecture tools and technologies that align with enterprise goals and improve the efficiency of architecture processes. 3. **Process Optimization** : Identify and drive improvements in existing architecture tooling processes to increase productivity and reduce overhead. 4. **Collaboration and Coordination** : Work closely with other IT and business units to ensure integration of architecture tools with business processes, fostering collaboration across teams. 5. **Governance and Compliance** : Establish governance frameworks and best practices for the use of architecture tools to ensure compliance with organizational policies. 6. **Training and Support** : Provide training and ongoing support to architecture teams and stakeholders on the effective use of tooling solutions. **Qualifications** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. + Proven experience (2+ years) in enterprise architecture, with a strong focus on architecture tooling. + Solid understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., C4, TOGAF, Zachman). **Skills/ Preferred Skills** **Skills:** + **Technical Expertise** : Proficiency in enterprise architecture tools (e.g., Ardoq, LeanIX, Bizzdesign), with the ability to evaluate new tools and technologies. + **Analytical Skills** : Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess current tool effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities. + **Communication Skills** : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to relate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. + **Collaboration** : Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of open communication and innovation. **Preferred Skills:** + Familiarity with cloud architecture and services (Azure, GCP, AWS). + Experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices. + Knowledge of data governance and security best practices in enterprise architecture tooling. **Additional Requirements** D&I Commitment Responsible for fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion, holding leaders accountable for creating an inclusive environment through awareness and practice of equity in recruiting, developing, and promoting diverse talent.
