We are looking for a dedicated EAP Counselor like you to be a part of our team. **Job Summary and Qualifications** **POSITION SUMMARY** **:** The Employee Assistance Program Counselor will facilitate the organization’s on-site employee assistance program (EAP), providing culturally competent counseling informed by a diversity, equity and inclusion lens, referrals to professionals to assist employees with personal and professional needs. The EAP Counselor will also actively integrate with Graduate Medical Education’s wellness curriculum. **SPECIFIC ELEMENTS & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** **:** **POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:** 1. Depending on the nature and scope of an employee’s need, provides culturally competent, trauma-informed counseling services or provides referrals to an appropriate third-party professional. 2. Communicates with human resources and, to the extent appropriate and necessary, with immediate supervisors to proactively identify employees who may need assistance. 3. Conducts confidential, anonymous surveys to ensure employee needs are being addressed. 4. Meets with residents for wellness check-ins. 5. Facilitates GME process groups for each residency class on a regular basis 6. Presents Wellness Didactics to GME programs, with an integrated focus on culturally competent, trauma informed practices and an emphasis on diversity, equity and inclusion. 7. Recommends modifications and/or additions to the EAP as needed to meet employee care goals. 8. Coordinates with health insurance providers to determine and communicate availability of preventive health services. 9. Develops and maintains a directory of personal and professional service providers throughout the area. 10. Serves as primary contact for offsite treatment and counseling services. 11. Fields and answers employee inquiries regarding the EAP. 12. Coordinates with the GME director to develop the EAP budget. 13. Performs other related duties as assigned. 14. Other duties as assigned **Requirements:** 1. 3-7 Years of experience 2. Experience with diverse populations and/or professional trainees (law students, medical students, resident doctors, or other similar populations) preferred. 3. Evidence of cultural competency and evidence of diversity, equity and inclusion competency as mentioned below is encouraged; certification in these categories preferred 4. Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field required with preferred focus on trauma informed practice; LMCH, LICSW preferred Situated in Portsmouth, NH, Portsmouth Regional Hospital (https://portsmouthhospital.com) is a premier 234-bed acute care facility that offers exceptional healthcare services to the Seacoast region of Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire.
