Position Summary The Assistant Lead Infant-Toddler Teacher works as a member of the Infant-Toddler Room teaching team with an Associate Lead Teacher. The Assistant Lead Teacher works cooperatively with the other classroom teachers to plan and support the implementation of a model infant program. The Assistant Lead Teacher acts as a model for classroom aides and practicum students: teaching appropriate skills and techniques by example.


Minimum Qualifications from Classification A minimum of twenty semester hours (thirty quarter hours) of college courses in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or Special Education; OR A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential; OR One year of full-time experience in a certified day care center or comparable child care program. Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position AA Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent. One full year of continuous teaching experience with infants and toddlers in an early childhood center.


Teachers must : maintain continuous enrollment in the Office of Child Care Central Background Registry; be current with Infant-Child First Aid/CPR; have a current Oregon Food Handler’s card; be trained in and know the state laws regarding reporting suspected child abuse. Preferred Qualifications BA or BA in progress in ECE, Child Development, Child, Youth and Family Studies is strongly preferred.

Work Days/Hours Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, schedule to be determined Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement The starting salary rate for this position will be between $15.59 and $16.19 per hour. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR.
