Position : Home Based Supervisor
Hours: 37.5 hrs. / 52 wk.
Salary Range: $50,823 -$60,918
Salary Grade: 9
Summary of Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Assistant Education Manager, the Home-Based Supervisor provides direct oversight of the Early Head Start Home-Based program option in compliance with Head Start Performance Standards. This position assist in the coordination, monitoring, and provision of training and technical assistance to the Home Visitors; and ensures ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards.
Qualifications and Education and Experience:
+ Education: Bachelor's degree (preferred), Associates Degree required in Social Work, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field. Home Visitors or Child Development Credential (HV and CDA ) is required, or the ability to obtain the credential within two (2) years of hire. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
+ Experience : Requires a minimum of three (3) years’ experience working with families, infants and toddlers, and pregnant women.
A minimum of two (2) years of supervisory, management, or administrative experience; or work experience in a leadership capacity is required. Must have strong leadership and team building skills.
+ Requires a demonstrated ability to comply with ethical standards; and issues that may be of a sensitive and confidential nature.
+ Knowledge of family support interventions is required.
+ Requires the ability to support coworkers at all organizational levels; and interconnect families to internal services offered throughout the Agency. R equires the ability to initiate and maintain partnerships with both internal & external consumers.
+ Extensive knowledge of community resources and offerings; support the development of community partners.
+ Must have experience and knowledge in the following areas: interpreting and using community assessment data; strategic planning; goal setting; analyzing systems; integration and interrelationship of services; evaluations; self-assessments; and tools and vehicles used in implementing these practices and tasks.
+ Requires knowledge and experience in developing, interpreting, and implementing policies, procedures, and regulations. Should have experience monitoring program compliance and outcomes, activities, etc. to ensure adherence to established standards.
+ Requires good oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Requires the ability to interact with diverse individuals at all organizational levels. must be able to maintain respect for diversity and individual cultural backgrounds and practices. Must have the ability to train, motivate, and engage staff teams and consumers.
+ Must be highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products , including Word, Excel, and Outlook; Must have experience in program design and data management systems; knowledge of computerized information systems used in management applications,
+ Bi-lingual capabilities preferred: English and Spanish.
+ Flexible schedule to attend evening meetings, agency training , and participate in special Agency events.
+ Requires the physical health and physical capability to work in an office.
+ Requires a valid NYS Driver’s License and access to reliable transportation.
Environment and Physical Demands of the Position: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job .
The position requires the physical health and capability to work in both an office environment, as well as frequent various Agency and HS and ECS sites, community locations to attend meetings, events, training, monitoring, etc. The employee may be subject to extended periods of sitting (i.e., reports, planning, etc.);frequently be required to be standing and walking for an extended period, or climbing stairs (i.e., training, presentations, etc.); and may also be subject to having to occasionally stoop, crouch (i.e., site visits, home observations, etc.). Duties and tasks may involve the intermittent performance of moderately physically demanding work, typically involving some combination of reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, or crouching (i.e., evaluating and preparing equipment, etc.); some tasks may require occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and or pulling of heavier objects or materials; and employee must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds weight (i. e. picking up and transporting supplies and or equipment, etc.).
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to receive and give verbal & written directives and instructions; and be able to hear and respond satisfactorily.
Some evening and weekend hours may be required in the event of emergency or if an accident occurs at a residence and Center and facility work site. Management and staff may be called should an inspection, consultation, or immediate action be necessary; or if additional work hours may be needed in completing required incident reports and or completing necessary paperwork.
All employees of ABC’s Head Start and Early Childhood Services Dept. must receive and maintain a full clearance from the Office of Children and Family Services and Justice Center of New York that confirms any prospective applicant or current employee has no pending criminal cases or prior convictions for sexual assault, domestic violence; has no indication of child abuse maltreatment or neglect; or who cannot be left unsupervised with children.
