To assist in the implementation of a Child Development Associate credentialing (CDA) program. Act as resource to advocate and inform the community on the importance of quality care as it affects children, families, employment, and economic development. Position can be located in Dunkirk or Jamestown. Regular full-time; Monday-Friday; 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.' $21.03/hour + Maintains knowledge of services, regulations, program contracts, mandates, and deliverables. + Support the implementation of the Child Development Associate credentialing program following the State and professional guidelines + Supports the attainment of ongoing education for early childhood professionals through continuous development and implementation of the Child Development Associate credentialing course, advisement, and certification support. + Designs individualized professional development trainings to support knowledge, understanding and implementation of developmentally appropriate practices in early education settings and the child care community. + Conduct center and home-based site observations to promote developmentally appropriate practices, sound program approaches to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging when working with children and families. + Plans, implements and coordinates mentoring activities and procedures designed to ensure compliance with established best practice standards (OCFS Regulations, ERS, CLASS assessments, CDA competencies and Trauma Informed Care) + May confer with teaching staff regarding child’s behavioral or learning difficulties, and recommends teaching strategies to encourage learning experiences + Facilitates and engages child care providers in reflective practice through an ongoing process of observation, reflection, and planning with the intention of improving professional practice, program quality and child outcomes. + Conducts classroom visits for the purpose of observing classroom activities, teacher-child interactions and provides on-site support to teaching staff as a Mentor-Coach + Provide one to one feedback and informal learning opportunities for childcare providers to reflect on and apply theory and learning to everyday practice. + Focus on supporting child care providers make the connection between high quality care and lesson planning. Facilitates how to create lesson plans utilizing child observations and assessments to inform intentional planning of the environment, and experiences for children. + Collaborates and engages in reflective practice with PD Team and other Mentor/Coach colleagues to improve professional practices and support program quality + Provide training in areas of expertise/certification. + Implements mentoring and coaching services, technical assistance, intensive technical assistance, child and classroom observations with assigned caseload + Maintains knowledge (professional and technical knowledge) of current practices and new developments and trends in early care and education + Develop and deliver trainings for the community + Facilitate and participate in meetings as designed + Prepares and analyzes reports and data relating to responsibilities + Prepares and submits reports to supervisor and appropriate providers around on site visits, classroom/teacher observations and assessments promptly and accurately + Maintains professional boundaries, performance, and confidentiality and complies with the code of ethics + Ability to communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds + Assists with Standards of Excellence data and Google Docs updates + Develop new leads for fee for services opportunities + Supports Summer Food Program + Promotes agency mission. Maintains confidentiality and complies with the code of ethics. + Maintains consistent professional customer service. + Job performance incorporates integrated service delivery model while promoting self-sufficiency. + Other duties as designated by supervisor Requirements Knowledge, Skills Required: + Associate degree with minimum of 18 credits in Early Childhood or Child Development + Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or child development preferred. + At least 3 years of professional experience working with children required + Knowledge of CSEFEL Pyramid approach and Head Start performance standards + Knowledge of Early Childhood Principles and Developmentally Appropriate Practices. + Ability to obtain a New York State Trainer’s Credential + Within 18 months received reliability or inter-rater reliability in assessment tools as designated + Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative relationships internally and externally. + Ability to learn a variety of data management systems and enter data in a timely manner + Strong oral and written communication skills + Demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills + Ability to manage multiple priorities with frequent interruptions + Demonstrate skills in the use of Power Point, Excel, and Google Docs + Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing in a wide variety of situations + Bi-lingual (Spanish) preferred.
