EB Account Manager

General Description: Manages Employee Benefits insurance accounts and services as their day-to-day contact.


Major Responsibilities:
· Manage a book of business comprised of fully insured clients but may include some self-insured clients. · Provide proactive, personalized support to assigned clients. Act as the primary contact between clients and insurance carriers. · As needed, preparation of materials needed for client meetings. Educate, advise and aid clients on all Compliance topics. Including, but not limited to ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, 5500s and Health Care Reform. · Set up new group insurance contracts for existing clients or new clients. · Manage the renewal process including the preparation of appropriate contractual changes. · Implement and manage programs recommended by technical resources (e.g. wellness, communications, strategies, pharmacy) · May be responsible for the marketing and placement of new benefit products. Prepare client application for review o Determine most appropriate carriers o Analyze and compare carrier quotes and coverage offerings o Make recommendations to clients · Develop alternative strategies, plan modeling and cost reduction opportunities. · Champion client cross-selling initiatives and develop customer accounts. · Conduct on-site meetings to communicate or administer benefit plans. · Coordinates, manages and attends client meetings both virtually and in person · Develop employee communications for renewal changes, enrollment procedures, benefit changes and/or clarifications. · Resolution support and oversight for client issues such as contract clarifications and billing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· 2-4 years' experience in employee benefits industry or related marketplace. College degree preferred. · Prior customer service experience is preferred. - Fully insured experience a must, self-insured nice to have. · Must hold life and disability insurance license. · Comfortable with internet-based programs and Microsoft Office products. · Ability to set priorities and manage deadlines. · Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal instruction. · Keep informed about industry information, technology and trends. · Ability to carry out complex tasks with many concrete and abstract variables.
